Amboseli National Park known for its magnificent elephant population of over 1500 elephants and one of the Africa’s largest, resides in this unique ecosystem. It also boasts of a majestic backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain and the world’s highest free standing mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. The Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa, set in rolling Savannah Scenery dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers fantastic wildlife viewing, is home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, Thompsons and Grant’s gazelles, gerenuk, impala, oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, wildebeests, giraffes, warthogs, striped hyenas, jackals, bat-eared fox, caratal, Africa wildcat, genet cat, honey badger, mongoose, and ostrich. Birdlife is prolific especially birds of prey.
Itinerary
On the said date, at 1:00 p.m., you will join a group coming from Lake Nakuru and heading to Amboseli. This is because this is a group safari, and we need a quorum to make it a success. Arriving late in the evening, check in at Nyati Safari Camp. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.
After breakfast, you will go for a full day game viewing. Amboseli National Park is crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak; it is one of Kenya’s most popular parks.
The name “Amboseli” comes from a Masai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of Elephants up close. Other animals include Blue Wildebeest, Masai giraffe, Sported hyena, Cheetah, Grant zebra, Cape buffaloes, Impala, and Wild dogs among others.
Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with Sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.
They can also visit the local Masai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.
In the afternoon break for picnic lunch then proceed with game viewing until 6:00 pm.
Dinner and overnight at Nyati Safari Camp.
Early in the morning have a cup of tea/Coffee then proceed for the morning game drive, enjoy the sunrise and take great photos. For the 2 nights in Amboseli, we are sure you shall have seen Mount Kilimanjaro, which has the highest peak in Africa. Later return to the camp for a full breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi. Arriving in the afternoon.
